John H. Haight (July 1, 1841 - April 8, 1917) was a Union Army soldier in the American Civil War who received the U.S. military's highest decoration, the Medal of Honor.〔 Haight was born in Westfield, New York on July 1, 1841. He was awarded the Medal of Honor, for extraordinary heroism shown on May 5 at the Battle of Williamsburg, on August 27 at Bristol Station, Virginia and on August 29 and 30, 1862, at Manassas, Virginia while serving as a Sergeant with Company G, 72nd New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment. His Medal of Honor was issued on June 8, 1888.〔 Haight died at the age of 75, on April 8, 1917 and was buried at East Ripley Cemetery in Ripley, New York. ==Medal of Honor citation==
